Your actions speak so loud, I can't hear a word you're sayin'
(chorus)
And I want to conquer the world,
Give all the idiots a brand new religion,
Put an end to poverty, uncleanliness and toil,
Promote equality in all my decisions
With a quick wink of the eye and a god
You must be joking!"

Dubya has landed himself in a place he does not belong. He prays, but he doesn't really listen to God. He has the connections to become the president, but he never was and never will be presidential material. His motivations and ultimately the fruit of his actions demonstrate the fact that he is unsuited to be President of the United States.
Like most people, G-dub never confronts the real issues that weigh him down. Thus, like most politicians, he is content to get elected for no higher purpose than to feel like he accomplished something. For many jobs, this might not be such a bad thing, but for the Commander in Chief, this mindset can lead to worldwide disaster.
It's simple. Know what you're doing and why you're doing it. Said another way: Know yourself. Said another way: Be reconciled within yourself and with God.
There is a big difference meaning well and being well.
G-dub was inspired by what he didn't want to happen. For example, he didn't want his father to be disappointed. He didn't want the sum of his life to be a failure. This is the epitome of an unreconciled outlook.
Dubya's incompleteness as a person makes him an incomplete leader. This has made him vulnerable to the manipulations of his advisers, especially Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld. Thus, he may have meant well, but his ability to "mean well" was fundamentally flawed. This is why he didn't think through his decision to hurl the U.S. into war even though, from his point of view, it felt like he had thought it through. His undeveloped sense of purpose led to the U.S. into an endless, wasteful, unjustifiable conflict in the middle-east.
George W. Bush demonstrates the fact that, when people force themselves into positions of leadership, bad things happen. There are few who are fit to lead--such individuals don't have to try too hard because they know who they are; they know what they are doing and why they are doing it.

John the Baptist's disciples came to him and said, "Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan (Jesus) -- the one you testified about -- he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him."
To this John replied, "A man can receive only what is given him from heaven."
--John's Gospel (3:26-28)
"I am the living bread that came down out of heaven" ... "I am the Light of the world" ... "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"

Plato said it: Justice is when each person is doing what he is best qualified to do. W., obviously, is a square peg in a round hole.
If you qualify W,s place in history as misguided leader you might be incorrect...
If one does the research on his family, and the bloodlines he's a part of, you may draw another conclusion to why he is in power...
I haven't seen the movie yet, but what you said about him praying but not listening was fascinating. I've always thought that someone who could irresponsibly risk so many lives didn't really believe, but your take on it makes a lot of sense. With his money and family influence he's had people sucking up to him and making him believe he was the center of the universe all his life and he probably thought it was his charm that kept them coming back. He probably thought the same of God, that God was there to do his bidding just like everyone else.
I think what you have said has alot of merit...
Even with a military background, and a keen interest in world events I can't judge his presidency yet because there is too much that we don;t know and won;t know until it is declassified in 10 to 20 years.. I think this is one of the mistakes that we make, making judgment calls on what we think we know, rather than any real facts.
Luckily God has all the facts.
I like your view on the W although I have not seen the movie. I have, however, seen the reality.
I propose the following: What if what's going on in Iraq, for example, has nothing to do with oil. What if he was simply the president that needed to make some tough choices for which we will not see the output of for 50 or so years? You do know that that some times happens, right? It just unimaginable to me that when you go to business school you are always told that an organization must have a plan. Everything is about planning. I ask you, what is America's (U.S.) plan? Could we tell everyone our plan? How do you not know what's happening is not apart of that plan? Or, are we taking a myopic view of our country's future? Should we be looking 50 to 100 years out? Now, reexamine Bush and tell me what you see.
On the topic of presidential movies-I bet $10 an Obama movie is already in the works, especially now that he's in. Oprah is probably financing it haha. The question is; who will take the lead role? I recommend Thandie Newton for Michelle Obama.
Mazz:
Thandie Newton didn't do well as Condi. I think we need some on like Halle Berry or possibly Vanessa Williams as Michelle. Meryl Streep could play Hillary and Will Smith would be O'Bama. Rosie O'Donell would love to play Palin but I guess Tina Fey has it. As to Biden and Bill Clinton Richard Dreyfus could play either one or both with the right make op. EDSOPINION.COM
Probably the best take on this movie I've seen. Very insightful.
